Open-air Museum Tefia Ecumuseo la Alcogida

Here in Tefia you find an ancient village has been faithfully restored. The houses are made of natural stone and its walls were plastered with lime. The roofs are covered with bricks , which were made from a blend of earth, straw and water.

Since no modern tools have been used in the restoration, it becomes clear how the people lived here hundreds of years ago.

With each rain dissolves some of the clay from the roof tiles so that the walls must be painted every year again.

The open-air museum consists of seven houses. It is the upscale property, as well as families of simple peasant houses.

These buildings were inhabited until the 70s and mid 90s were restored by the municipality. They are named after their former owners. In the houses today the craftsmanship and the time of his life are illustrated.
